Board of Directors

AIR’s volunteer Board of Directors oversees our financial and administrative health. The time and support offered by our Board are integral in helping us continue our mission and service to the community and teens.

Karin Barndollar

President

Karin Barndollar left her native Germany in the early seventies and spent a number of years living in England, France, and the United Arab Emirates, where she met her husband Steve. They moved to Portsmouth in 1982, started a business and raised their son and daughter here. They chose Portsmouth because of its vibrant arts scene, as well as its proximity to the mountains and the ocean.

Karin’s first volunteer experience was with the Little Harbor and Middle School Parent Teacher Organizations where she was instrumental in helping to bring arts and other enrichment programs into the classrooms. She subsequently served for several terms on the Music Hall Board and has always been very supportive of the arts in the community. Karin is currently a member of the Board of Families First Community Health Center and believes that health care is a human right. Through Families First parenting programs, she became particularly familiar with the issues faced by many Seacoast families, which led her to become an AIR supporter.

There has always been an international focus to Karin’s life, as a business person, a traveller, and a Board member of Education for All Children, a New Hampshire based non-profit that sponsors high school and university students in Kenya, again with the focus on supporting girls and young women.

Karin is the lucky grandmother of two little girls who live in her neighborhood.

 

Cori McGrath

Vice President

Cori joined Arts in Reach in 2022, after one of her children smiled their way through AIR’s Wild Imaginings Project and actually walked the runway in their up-cycled outfit. Cori’s passion for the Seacoast started in 1996 when she moved to the area from Westchester County, NY.  Settling in Portsmouth, Cori found the perfect community to ground herself and be connected to nature, history, and the arts. Her husband and teenage twins believe in participating in local activities, supporting local businesses, and helping the community to be a better place to live.  She is a Realtor with Aland Realty and is licensed in New Hampshire and Maine. She strives to build relationships with her clients and exceed their expectations.

Cori graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a BA in Psychology and currently sits on the Board of Trustees for The Music Hall, helping the organization with fundraising and corporate partnerships. In addition, she graduated from Leadership Seacoast in 2022 which opened her eyes to the array of community programs like Arts in Reach.

Joanne Knight

Secretary

Joanne was born and raised in Chicago in a family of six girls. After receiving her BS in finance from the University of Illinois and her MBA in finance and economics from the University of Chicago, Joanne embarked on an international banking career working in Chicago, London and Milan.

Joanne met her husband, Rick, while living overseas, and in 1999 they moved back to U.S. living in Chappaqua NY before relocating to the Seacoast in 2012 with their then 13-year-old son. Joanne joined Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor in May 2013 as part of the Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based Drew Wealth Management Group. In between her two financial careers, Joanne became a Certified Holistic Health Coach and built a successful practice counseling individuals and families on how to live healthier lives.

Community involvement has always been important to Joanne.  Locally she has served on the boards of New Heights Adventure for Teens, Womenaid, The Seacoast Women’s Giving Circle and The Alex Manfull Fund. She brings this experience to the AIR board along with her passion for empowering women.

She currently resides in Portsmouth, NH. In addition to her son, Joanne has a stepdaughter and two grandkids. Her interests include travel, hiking, biking, skiing, being a mom, and making an impact on the world.

Andrea Allen

Treasurer

Andrea Allen has been an active member of the seacoast community for the past 20 years. She moved to Portsmouth, NH with her husband in 2001 and has since raised her three children in this community. She has enjoyed a successful career in the education sector, a passion for equity and justice, and a strong commitment to philanthropy and service. Andrea owned and operated the Portsmouth, NH Kumon Math and Reading Learning Center for 10 years, ensuring that students of all ages and abilities develop a strong foundation in math and reading. As owner, Andrea instructed and coached students, managed operations and staff, maintained strong financial health, and effectively communicated with parents and stakeholders.

Throughout her professional career, Andrea has allocated significant time to community service and volunteerism. Notably, she was a founding member and first Vice-Chair of the Seacoast Women’s Giving Circle, helping to launch and grow what has since become one of the most prolific philanthropic entities in New Hampshire. She served on the US Board of Directors for Education for All Children as Board Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee in addition to leading the US team as Executive Director.

Andrea’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Tufts University and a graduate certificate in Human Behavior from Harvard University’s Extension School, where she is currently completing her master’s degree in Psychology. Her multifaceted career path reflects her unwavering dedication to education, community involvement, and nonprofit leadership.

David Greene

David Greene has been a lifelong resident of Dover, NH. He can often be found sipping an iced red eye at Adelle’s Coffeehouse, gardening at his house, or riding his bike. David has a passion and commitment for public service. Arts have also been a passion of David’s and he strives to share his enjoyment with others.

After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic University in 2007, David went on to get a law degree with an LLM in Intellectual Property from Franklin Pierce Law Center (now UNH Law School) in 2010. David has been a practicing attorney and small business owner in Dover for over 10 years, specializing in intellectual property law and offering legal expertise in the areas of family law, real property issues, wills and trusts, and personal injury matters.

Joseph Keefe

Joe is a senior executive who brings over 26 years diverse management and leadership experience in the financial services industry. He has served as general counsel, CCO, in senior executive positions and as president and CEO of asset management firms engaged in sustainable investing and is widely recognized as one of the leaders in the field.

From 2005 to 2024, Joe served as President of Impax Mutual Funds (formerly Pax World Funds) and its investment adviser, Impax Asset Management LLC. During Joe’s tenure, Impax became one of the leading innovators in the rapidly growing field of sustainable investing. He is a passionate advocate for investing in women and the critical role that gender diversity plays in business success. Joe has written and spoken widely on the subjects of sustainable investing and women’s empowerment.

Joe co-founded the Thirty Percent Coalition, whose work has led to women joining hundreds of previously non-diverse boards. He is former Co-Chair of the Leadership Group for the Women’s Empowerment Principles, a joint program of the United Nations Global Compact and UN Women, and is the former Chair of the Board of Directors of Women Thrive Worldwide, a leading non-profit organization shaping U.S. international assistance and trade policy to help women in developing countries lift themselves out of poverty.

Investment News included Joe in its 2019 list of “10 leaders of ESG and Impact Investing,” calling him a “longtime giant” in gender-lens investing. Barron’s named Joe one of the “20 Most Influential People in Sustainable Investing” in 2018 for his work to advance gender equality.

Joe was named by Ethisphere Magazine as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics” in 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2015. In 2012, he was recognized by Women’s eNews as one of “21 Leaders for the 21st Century,” where he was the sole male honoree, and in 2014 Joe was honored at the United Nations as one of five recipients of the Women’s Empowerment Principles Leadership Award. In 2015, Financial Times named him one of its 10 “top feminist men” for his work helping women succeed in business and beyond.

Prior to joining Impax, Joe was President of NewCircle Communications, a strategic consulting and communications firm specializing in corporate social responsibility and public policy-oriented communications. He served as Senior Adviser for Strategic Social Policy at Calvert Group from 2003–2005 and as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Citizens Advisers from 1997–2000. He is a former member of the Board of Directors (2000–2006) of US SIF, the trade association representing asset managers and investors engaged in sustainable investing throughout the United States.

He is a former Democratic Nominee for United States Congress in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District and a former Chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party and member of the Democratic National Committee.

Joe received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the College of the Holy Cross, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.

 

 

Francie Osgood

Francie Osgood has spent the last 20 years on the Seacoast giving back to her community in direct and indirect ways. She strives to bring creativity and inclusion to all her endeavors.

With a degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin and a career in marketing and graphic design, Francie has offered her services to local nonprofits, creating logos and promotional materials. She lives with her husband and two sons in Portsmouth. You may have seen them around town, volunteering or hosting events, in support of their favorite non-profits. 

Growing up in a large Wisconsin family, she cherishes her role as friend, advocate and confidant to her dozens of nieces and nephews. Her soft spot for supporting youth led to over a decade of involvement with Education for All Children (EFAC), as both volunteer and employee.  Francie relished her years as a volunteer child-care provider at Crossroads House and high school mentor for St. John’s Church. She is grateful to serve on a board where she can direct her passions for art and mentoring in support of AIR’s profound impact on local youth. 

Beth Salvi-Hudgins, LICSW

Beth Salvi-Hudgins (she/her/hers) received her MSW from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1994, and has worked on the Seacoast of NH since 1995, providing individual, family, and group therapy to youth and adults. Beth was in private practice in Exeter, NH from 2000-2021, and in 2021 opened DBTeens NH, a tele-mental health intensive outpatient program. In 2023 she expanded this organization to DBT For You, the parent company of DBTeens, DBTwenties (both intensive outpatient programs), and DBT For Schools (training for school providers in implementing DBT in the school system). 

Beth was a clinical consultant for AIR from 2018–2021, and is excited to return in her new role as Board Member.
