The Project:
Building a Home for Healing

For 27 years, AIR operated out of temporary, often inaccessible spaces. In 2023, we purchased our first-ever permanent site in Durham, NH.

We’re now launching a campaign to:

  • Renovate and expand a barn into a community arts center
  • Provide stable, trauma-informed programming space
  • Quadruple the number of teens we can serve
  • Strengthen community partnerships and access to services

The New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) Tax Credit Program is a state-run initiative that allows businesses to support local nonprofits and receive a 75% state tax credit in return.

Businesses with a New Hampshire tax liability (Business Profits Tax, Business Enterprise Tax, or Insurance Premium Tax) can purchase tax credits from approved nonprofits like Arts In Reach (AIR).

Your contribution becomes a donation to AIR, and you receive a 75% credit against your NH taxes. The remaining 25% may also qualify as a federal charitable deduction.

Any New Hampshire business that pays one or more of the following:

  • Business Profits Tax (BPT)
  • Business Enterprise Tax (BET)
  • Insurance Premium Tax

AIR was awarded over $300,000 in tax credits by the CDFA to fund a new community arts center in Durham, NH. Businesses can support this project by purchasing our credits—and in doing so, reduce their tax burden while supporting teen mental health and creativity.

Tax credit funds are allocated to projects that:

  • Support community or economic development
  • Increase or maintain local employment
  • Provide affordable housing
  • Benefit low- to moderate-income populations
